The year Four Loco Killed the Party. Yes it is true. Four Loco can accelerate your inebriation, but it comes at a cost. Our time on the river was standard Kabrew, but the Four Loco apparently lead to some early peaking. Kabrew 7 was consistent all nights with the party shutting down far earlier than usual. Still a great time, just a lot of exhausted past-out Kabrewers sacking out earlier than we have in the past. (This is relative given our norm had been consistently past 2am).

The most notable difference was the lack of fellow drunken paddlers on the river. Friday, we've come to realize, is generally a down day (it's a work day after all), but Saturday is normally pretty packed. Not this year. Kabrew 7 fell on the same weekend as the Hoxeyville Music Festival just down the road from the river. This clearly pulled paddlers away to go do the drunken concert thing rather than the drunken river thing. Friday was just plane sparse, and Saturday was notably down.

Other Notables:

  • Record attendance with 14 paddlers, including 1 rookie, and a visit from our long lost Chinaman who's been on hiatus sine K2
  • First time Kabrew was in attendance for a marriage proposal (she said yes, and we saw them again on Kabrew 8)
  • We see another crew for the 3rd straight year, despite changing the weekend… Small world
  • Snooki

Kabrew 7 was 14 Kabrewers Strong.
